Procedures for Casual Pistol Shooters

Absolutely no targets can be placed on the ground!!!

A casual shooter is anyone NOT participating in an organized event or CHL training. 
 

Procedures for Bay No’s 1, 2 and 3 (No prone shooting allowed)

All shooting will be conducted from behind the benches.  On bay No. 3 the benches must be no further forward than the roof supports. 
 

Exceptions for Bay No. 1.

Downrange shooting is only allowed on bay No. 1 and using the following procedures:

  1. Anyone intending to shoot downrange on bay No. 1 must inform the range officer before shooting.
  2. All four safety signs in bay No. 1 must be placed in the down position and secured.  All flags must be displayed as well.
  3. All shooting MUST be to the south only. Moveable targets must be placed at the berm.  If multiple targets are used, a maximum firing angle of 20 degrees is permitted.
  4. No prone shooting will be allowed in bay No. 1.
  5. No shooter may un-bag or handle a weapon, magazines or ammo at the bench when the signs are deployed.
  6. Shooters must supply their own stands, sticks, targets etc.

 
 

Procedures for casual shooting of steel targets with 22 caliber long rifle rim fire only.

  1. Anyone shooting steel targets of any kind must have completed NTSA’s Steel Target Training Course.
  2. No steel targets are to be shot in bays No. 2 or 3.
  3. Steel targets may be shot in bay No. 1 and the 50 yd. intermediate rifle range.  All targets must be placed at the berm. 
  4. Shooting on the 50 yd. rifle range must be conducted from behind the benches.
  5. Shooting downrange is permitted on bay No. 1 only and under the following conditions:

 
 

5.1.  All flags and safety signs must be used.

5.2.  Minimum distance for shooting steel is 15 yards.
